Offline Pilates is a classical Pilates studio offering private instruction by appointment only. Founded by Makini Mask, the studio exists for anyone who needs an antidote to the noise. A place to get out of your head and back into your body.

We teach Pilates the way it was originally taught.

Through precise movements on the reformer, cadillac, chair, and mat, you:

  • Build functional core strength (not just abs—actual spinal support)

  • Restore mobility in hips, shoulders, and spine

  • Reduce chronic pain from desk posture

  • Improve focus and mental clarity

  • Reconnect you with your body

In 1925, Joseph Pilates designed a system for bodies under constant demand. Precise movements on spring-based equipment that built strength, mobility, and control. Dancers used it. Athletes used it. People recovering from injury used it. Not because it was trendy. Because it worked.

Different era, same principle. You may not be lifting equipment or performing on a stage, but your work demands elite‑level performance: deep focus for hours, rapid decisions under pressure, creativity on command. That kind of cognitive output isn’t powered by caffeine and willpower alone, it’s powered by a body that’s actually prepared for the load.

Classical Pilates restores the physical foundation that mental performance depends on. The system has been proven for over a century. We teach it the way it was designed.

100 years old. More relevant than ever.

Your body didn't come with documentation.

That's what we're for.

Private Sessions

Fifty minutes. One on one. Working through the classical apparatus: reformer, cadillac, chair, barrel, and mat.

Each session is built around where your body is today, what it needs, and where you want to go. We move at your pace. We adjust in real time.

Joseph Pilates created a system of deliberate, intelligent movement meant to reorganize the body from the inside out.

This is not a workout to check off your list. It is time to get out of your head and back into your body.

I know the feeling of living entirely in your head. Cornell undergrad, Wharton MBA, Director at Google. My brain was always running the show. Pilates became the first place I could actually slow down and reconnect. That's why I started OFFLINE Pilates: a space to step out of the mental noise and back into your body.

My body has always been part of the story too. Competitive figure skating as a kid. Olympic weightlifting and powerlifting as an adult. Two Ironman 70.3 finishes. I know how to push. What I didn't know was how to move fully with intention.

The short version: after major surgery in London, I walked into a classical Pilates studio looking for rehab. I walked out taller, more aligned, more powerful. I was instantly hooked. I’d tried plenty of Pilates over the years, but the original method was the one that actually changed everything

I completed my comprehensive certification at Equinox in London and remain a serious student of the method. I train regularly with Alexandra Edwards and Christos Niaros and have taken workshops with Brooke Siler and Maria Earle. Pilates has a lineage, and I believe in honoring it.

I started OFFLINE Pilates to bring the vibrant, rigorous classical culture I found in London back home to the Bay Area. It felt too good to leave behind, and I wanted to build a space where that same energy could thrive here.

What I love most about this work is watching clients move without pain, stand taller, and feel at home in their bodies again. At the end of the day, it’s about connection - your body, your breath, and the inner strength that’s been there all along.
